This day we hit six different rivers chasing the steel!...but as we all know you have to keep at it ..be persistent...and go until you cant go any longer... to be successful at steelhead fishing...Thanks Nate for a great weekend of steelhead adventures...more adventures just around the corner this spring !!!

"Oh Danny Boy"

Have to say been hitting the river quite hard the last few days and she has been producing each time....have had some great times with friends & family enjoying beautiful weather, water & wonderful Brown trout....this day friend & fellow angler Dan Cheshir came up with this beauty within the first few casts...we walked a ways for her ..but as you can she was well worth it !!!! kept pushing hard through out the day until dark...enjoying the river, conversation: along with a beer or two & trout in between....Now this guy is ready to go steelheading this weekend with his buds...story & pics to follow ?

Yuenglings All Around

Next Days Gold...alot of fun...dont get tired of this...keep them coming...the Yuenglings and the Brownies...type of Gold colors we like...fishing with fellow angler Erik & had a stellar day...Erik must have got 6 or 7 quality fish to the  net.....thanks for the yuengs & a super day...lets do it again soon...forgot to mention this guys first time on the Mad and did great...hes used to catching 51" muskies...but like us all enjoys the Tight Lines !....

Out on the Mad recently with fellow angler, guide, & friend : Ron,who was gracious enough to share these nice pics with me...the river is a little low but these rains to come should put her right at where we want her !!!...River is in great shape & color...fish are out..either if you are nymphing or swinging "The Meat" the brownies are coming to the table...patients helps with perseverance & covering lots of water....you cant catch them if you're not on the water !!! So lets get out and enjoy these next couple months of great fishing opportunities...November..December the best months to be on the river...Tight Lines...Be in Touch...

Had a slow start but finished in a flurry ! Enjoy these pictures...

This guy caught some very nice fish for not having been experienced in the techniques that we were using this day to catch these beauties.  Took a little bit to get comfortable with the hook set but after a few missed attempts & a couple lost fish, the smallies started coming to the net.  Had a nice day & looking forward to the next time out.  Tight lines! "The Caster"

Another couple good days on the water this past Wednesdays & Thursday...able to get Ron, a new client out and fully enjoyed ourselves.  The weather cooperated again with a little welcomed rain on Wednesday which was a nice change over those bluebird skies...as fishing goes..and the LD needs the water.  Got into some pleasing smallies & largemouth with nice sized rockbass in between.  Thursday started out with throwing the cast net for some shad and moving to the Scioto to some more open water.  Not that familiar with drifting bait, even though he did just fine, Ron wanted to do some casting with his own rigs, and man can he cast...therefor now referred to as "The Caster".  Once more, we got into some quality fish, as well as a couple nice surprises..a 28" musky on the shad drift & this foot long crappie..good eats.  My dog Buckeye, aka "Buck" was also happy to finally get back on the water.  Thursday was cut a little short , but overall good time had by all.  This weather coming through should bring in the needed water for the rivers up north..bringing in the steelhead !! get ahold of me for info..more to come.  The local rivers should stay fishable this next week.  until next time..Tight Lines!

Pigtailed

Went out again this past Friday with Dan and he slayed the smallies....took an impressive healthy 18.5 incher that didnt want to come in.  As we thought the fish were holding in the deeper holes and keeping tight to the cover.  This cat gave up a fight as well, Dan thought he had him landed, until he took off for another long run...I got some good video....the smallies are giving us some epic battles with long extended runs...super exciting stuff..really enjoyed taking Dan out again, he's allot of fun and wont let you (me) live it down when the hook pulls off in a pigtail by your tie!  Until next time.........?
